Virgil Abloh, the inventive director for Louis Vuitton menswear and the founder of the label Off-White, has died after a private battle with cancer. He was 41.

Louis Vuitton parent corporation LVMH announced Abloh’s demise in a tweet on Sunday, alongside with a joint assertion with Louis Vuitton and Off-White.

“We are all stunned immediately after this awful news. Virgil was not only a genius designer, a visionary, he was also a gentleman with a stunning soul and fantastic wisdom. The LVMH household joins me in this minute of great sorrow and we are all considering of his liked ones soon after the passing of their partner, their father, their brother or their pal,” CEO of LVMH Bernard Arnault said in the assertion.

Abloh was identified with cardiac angiosarcoma, a uncommon, intense variety of most cancers in 2019, in accordance to a article on his individual Instagram account.
